A girl went to a party andshe endedupstaying longer than planned, and had towalk home alone. She wasn't afraidbecause it was a small town and shelived only a few blocksaway.
As she walked along under the tallelm trees, Diane asked God tokeep her safe from harm and danger. When she reached the alley, which was a short cut to her house, shedecided to take it.
However, halfway down the alleyshe noticed a man standing at theend as though he were waiting for her.She became uneasy and began topray, asking for God's protection.
Instantly a comforting feelingof quietness and security wrappedround her, she felt as though someonewas walking with her. When she reached the end of thealley, she walked right past the manand arrived home safely.

The following day, she read inthe newspaper that a young girl hadbeen raped in the same alley justtwenty minutes after she had beenthere.Feeling overwhelmed by thistragedy and the fact that it could havebeen her, she began to weep.
Thanking the Lord for hersafety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the policestation. She felt she could recognizethe man,so she told them her story. The police asked her if shewould bewilling to look at a lineup tosee if she could identify him.She agreed and immediatelypointed out the man she had seen in thealley the night before. When the man was told he hadbeen identified, he immediatelybroke down and confessed.
The officer thanked Diane forher bravery and asked if there wasanything they could do for her.She asked if they would ask theman one question.
Diane was curious as to why hehad not attacked her. When the policeman asked him,he answered, "Because she wasn'talone. She had two tall men walking oneither side of her."Amazingly, whether you believeor not, you're never alone.
